Stud placement for outstanding grip

Winter's biggest challenges are braking distance and loss of grip when cornering and changing lanes on snowy roads. In these conditions your winter tyres are the first line of defence, and Hakkapeliitta stud technology gives the driver more time to react. The studs are arranged in a star formation and angled so that they work as effectively as possible both across and along the tyre.

Grip on ice is essential, but stability on wet, dry and snow-covered roads matters just as much. One of the toughest conditions is slush — especially when it is half-frozen. The centre of the tread is very stiff, so steering stays precise without any loss of grip.
