The tread pattern has been redesigned. The new Double Block Grip delivers flawless grip in harsh winter conditions: a stiff row of tread blocks starts in the centre of the tyre, splits in two and runs out to the shoulder areas. There are 40% more tread blocks than on its predecessor and the contact area is 4% larger, giving better grip on icy roads.

A studless tyre with Arctic Grip crystals
Arctic Grip crystals are mixed into the tread compound. They act like built-in pins, forming sharp, strong gripping edges in the rubber. As the tyre wears, the crystals are exposed and maintain the grip.
Together, the new tread pattern, the Arctic Grip crystals and Double Block Grip increase safety and comfort when driving in winter. The tyre's rolling resistance has also been lowered, which reduces fuel costs.
Nokian Aramid sidewall reinforcement saves lives
Aramid sidewall reinforcement increases the tyre's durability and protects it in unexpected situations. The sidewalls are made from an exceptionally durable compound containing extremely strong aramid fibres, so they can better withstand external stresses — such as potholes on city streets.
