The studs were tested at Nokian's test centre in Ivalo, Finland. They are square to maximise the contact area and, together with the tread pattern, deliver powerful grip in tough winter conditions.
The grooves in the tread are designed to clear snow and slush effectively from under the tyre.
A tread pattern that improves winter safety
The tread features numbers and a snowflake symbol that show the tread depth. The numbers indicate how many millimetres remain and disappear one by one as the tyre wears. Once the snowflake has gone, it is time to change your tyres.
Nokian Aramid sidewall reinforcement saves lives
Aramid sidewall reinforcement increases the tyre's durability and protects it in unexpected situations. The sidewalls are made from an exceptionally durable compound containing extremely strong aramid fibres, so they can better withstand external stresses — such as potholes on city streets.
